Annual Imam-Al-Sadiq (a.s.) Scholarship

Imam Ali (AS) has said, "No wealth is more useful than intelligence and wisdom".
To enhance community empowerment Muslim Congress, the national organization for muslims living in US humbly announces its annual scholarship program.
- DEADLINE for scholarship applications is the 17th of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1433 AH.
- Refer to criteria below for eligibility requirements.
- Refer to application process below for a list of the supporting documents needed (i.e., reference forms, evidence of GPA, etc.)

Purpose: To provide scholarship to 3 deserving full time students attending hawza ilmiyaah and to provide scholarships to 3 deserving high school graduating seniors interested in or intending to pursue post-high school course of study.
Award Components: 6 ($1200 each) scholarships and individual certificates awarded to 6 students selected by the Muslim Congress Scholarship Committee.
Criteria: for High School seniors
- Applicant must be a resident in US.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award.
- Applicant must demonstrate positive-impact involvement – in the complete sense – consistent with capacity and circumstances and/or significant improvement/success in scholarship and community involvement, determined through letters of recommendation.
Criteria: for Hawza Students:
- Applicant must be enrolled in a recognized Hawza ilmiyaa as determined by Religious scholar on the scholarship committee.
- Proof of dedication to the field of knowledge.
- Reference letters.
Application Process: Applicant must submit the following items:
- Completed application form (if handwritten, please print legibly)
- Letter of application addressed to the Scholarship Committee. The letter should contain a brief explanation of career goals and biographical (background) information.
- At least one letter of recommendations from choice of high school teachers, administrators, counselors, employers, or individual with significant knowledge of applicant’s experience and involvement.
- At least one reference letter from local scholar or community elder/activist who can verify your community involvement.
- An official and recent high school transcript with cumulative grade point average and a class standing/rank.
- Essay. Essay theme: Role of Imam –e-Zamana AJTF in our lives.
Deadline for the application is 17th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1433 AH. Applications postmarked after this date will not be considered.

Evaluation Process: All applications along with supporting documents should be submitted via mail to Muslim Congress at P.O. Box 17135 Sugar Land, TX 77496. Upon receipt, a scholarship committee will evaluate the application. Applicants may also be contacted for further inquiries or for a short interview by a committee member. Upon careful reviewing of the application and presented materials, the top ranked applicants based upon the eligibility criteria will be awarded the respective denominated scholarships based on the decision of the committee members.
